Sriram Eleswarapu, MD, PhD

Reproductive Urology & Bioengineering

Sriram Eleswarapu is a surgeon-scientist with advanced training in reproductive urology and bioengineering. He serves on the faculty of the Department of Urology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His clinical work focuses on male reproductive and sexual health, with specialized expertise in testosterone optimization, male infertility, Peyronie's disease, prosthetic surgery, and testicular microsurgery.

Prior to his training in urology, Sriram pursued doctoral research in cartilage regeneration and cellular mechanobiology.

Sriram earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and his doctorate in bioengineering from Rice University. He completed urology residency, including intensive robotic surgery training, at the Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Hospital, followed by a fellowship in male reproductive medicine and microsurgery at UCLA.

Teaching & Mentorship

Sriram co-leads the reproductive block in the Scientific Foundations of Medicine course for first-year medical students at UCLA. He participates in the andrology curriculum for UCLA urology residents.

The Andrology Research Group at UCLA meets on the first Friday of every month and consists of undergraduates, medical students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, career scientists, and faculty. Alumni of the group have successfully launched careers in medicine, industry, and management.

Technology

Outside of medicine and bioengineering, Sriram is a tech enthusiast with an interest in human-computer interfaces, wearable devices, tinkering with open-source local LLMs, and the intersection of these technologies.
